VITAL ARTS.

Skilling young people for their futures.

Recognising 21st-century skills through the arts.

Our Vision

Vital Arts is a national research project creating digital micro-credentials that showcase the real skills young people gain through creative practice. We’re building pathways to education, employment and community futures.

The Vital Arts research project, funded by the Australian Research Council, has successfully demonstrated how the skills and experiences of young people in arts programs can be captured and accredited. Over five years, the project brought together researchers from RMIT University, Deakin University and the National University of Singapore, working closely with Creative Australia and partners across the youth arts sector to develop and test micro-credentials that recognise employable skills gained through creative practice and youth arts activities.
