Frequently Asked Questions

What is Vital Arts?

Vital Arts is a collaborative research project between RMIT University, Deakin University, National University of Singapore and the Australia Council for the Arts that captures the skills and experiences of young people as they participate in youth arts programs.

The project will engage with a range of partners across the youth arts sector to build micro-credentials that recognise the employable skills developed through youth arts activities, creating new pathways to employment for young people.

What is the ARIG?

The Action Research Industry Group is a collaborative group of research partners with expertise across industry, education and the arts. The ARIG will guide the development of three micro-credentials in ways that best meet the needs of industry and young people.

How can I contribute to the ARIG?

The Action Research Industry Group will meet 2 times a year across the course of the project. Members of the ARIG will help to support the development of the mico-creds by attending these meetings and responding to research questions and prompts between meetings. The research prompts will often take the form of “VideoAsk” videos where you’ll be able to record your answers directly.

What is VideoAsk and how do I use it?

VideoAsk is an online platform that allows us to send video questions to members of the ARIG. We’ll be using this platform to keep in touch with ARIG members between meetings, floating current research questions and ideas. ARIG members can then respond to these questions through a text, audio or video response. You don’t need to create an account with VideoAsk to respond.

What is the ARIG Site and how do I use it?

The ARIG Site is an internal site attached to the Vital Arts website. You’ll need a password to access this page. The site will give you the latest updates on the ARIG, plus access to any current VideoAsk prompts. You’ll also be able to use our collaborative Padlet to respond to questions and collaborate with other ARIG members.
